How It Works

Choose a conversation.
Pick a side. Join in.

Yabberly is built for live conversations between people who see things differently.

Listen. Speak. Challenge ideas. Hear the other side.

Yabberly: A place where we agree to disagree.

Start With A Question

What is a Yabber?

A Yabber is a live conversation built around a question with two sides.

Before entering, you choose the side that best represents your position. That helps create a conversation where people with different points of view can hear and respond to one another.

Choosing a side doesn't mean you're locked into that opinion forever. You came to talk. You came to listen. You might even change your mind.

LIVE Example live discussion

Should cities ban cars from downtown areas?

Yes

Reduce congestion, noise, and pollution downtown.

No

People and businesses still need convenient vehicle access.

Participate Your Way

Listen or speak.

You decide how you want to be part of the conversation.

Listener

You don't have to take the podium to take part.

Listen to both sides, follow the conversation, and react to the people who are speaking.

Speaker

Have something to say? Volunteer.

When a community podium position becomes available, Yabberly randomly selects someone from the participants who volunteered to speak.

No follower counts. No popularity contest. No algorithm decides who gets heard.
Taking The Podium

Want to speak? Put your hand up.

Community speakers are chosen from the people who have volunteered to speak.

VolunteerTell Yabberly you'd like to speak.

Random SelectionAn available speaker is selected at random.
Take the PodiumMake your case and join the debate.
While someone is speaking, the community can react to how that person is contributing to the conversation. The community helps determine when it's time for another voice to enter the discussion.
Two Kinds Of Conversations

Regular Yabbers and Sponsored Yabbers

The conversation works much the same way in both. The difference is who is supporting the discussion and whether invited Sponsored Speakers are participating.

Community Conversation

Regular Yabber

A live discussion around a question people want to talk about.

Participants choose a side, listen, volunteer to speak, and participate under Yabberly's community rules.

Sponsors support the conversation. They don't get a profile of the people having it.
Sponsored Speakers

Expert voices. Community voices.
Both belong on the podium.

Sponsors may invite subject-matter experts, people with direct experience, representatives of the sponsoring organization, or people invited to present a particular point of view.

Sponsored Speakers add to the conversation. They don't take it over. There will always be podium positions available for community participants who volunteer to speak.

Debate alongside them.

Community speakers can question, challenge, agree with, disagree with, and debate directly alongside Sponsored Speakers.

A Sponsored Yabber is still a Yabber.

Hear knowledgeable voices from both sides.

Whenever appropriate, sponsors are encouraged to invite knowledgeable Sponsored Speakers representing different sides of the question.

Sponsored Speakers are clearly identified and are not removed from the podium by audience vote. They may also have limited moderation responsibilities within a Sponsored Yabber.

Sponsorship & Advertising

Sponsored doesn't mean targeted.

Sponsors support topics and conversations, not individual user profiles.

Based on the topic

If advertising appears in a Yabber about electric vehicles, the advertising might also relate to electric vehicles.

Topic: Electric Vehicles

Topic-related advertising or sponsorship

Not based on you

We don't track your participation and then use it to decide what advertising should follow you.

Your Yabber history

Your side selections

Behavioral advertising profile
Advertising, if it appears, is based on the subject of the Yabber, not on a profile of the person viewing it.
Privacy By Design

Your opinions are yours.

Yabberly was designed so disagreement doesn't become data.

What we don't track

  • Which Yabbers you visit
  • Which side you support
  • Which speakers you approve or disapprove
  • Your debate history
  • Topics we think you're interested in
  • Your activity for targeted advertising
  • Your behavior for personalized recommendations

What we do keep

  • Times a participant has been voted off the podium
  • Administrative removals from the podium
  • Administrative or sponsor removals from a Yabber
  • Suspensions or similar enforcement actions
Why?To identify patterns of intentional disruption and help protect productive conversation.
We don't use those safety records to determine your beliefs, choose which Yabbers you should see, target advertising, or build a profile for sponsors.
You Stay In Control

No algorithm choosing your worldview.

Yabberly isn't designed to keep feeding you more of what an algorithm thinks will keep you clicking.

No personalized feed

No engagement algorithm

No behavioral targeting

You choose the Yabber.
Yabberly doesn't choose it for you.
100% Private From Advertisers & Sponsors

We don't monetize what you believe.

Your opinions aren't an advertising product.
Your debate history isn't a marketing profile.
Your side isn't something we sell.
Your participation stays private from advertisers and sponsors.
